About Us

Beautiful Landscapes and Facilities

Our new farm is our dream come true! We are on 30 acres of gently rolling hills and woods, on the Charlotte, NC side of Tryon, just 15 mins from Tryon International Equestrian Center, an hour to Asheville, NC, the Greenville/Spartanburg Airport, and an hour to the Charlotte (NC) Douglas International Airport, super convenient for our clients flying in for a clinic or to pick up their new family member!

The equestrian facilities are excellent with a large, fenced ring with a full course of jumps, wooded trails and fields with natural jumps to enjoy. We have a beautiful barn with 8 big, matted stalls, 5 haul-in stalls, hot/cold washrack, 4 large pastures, paddocks and a roundpen. New electrical outlets and LED lighting make it as safe as it is functional. Ample parking with room to turn around without backing up makes it a breeze to get in and out. It is an awesome place to escape to learn more and really enjoy your horse.

Charlotte has always been an avid gardener, as much as her time has allowed, and here they splurged and had the pool garden area professionally designed. Charlotte was so inspired by the colorful artwork and joyful garden of Leoma Lovegrove (of Matlache, FL) during her visit to her gallery in 2017, she returned home (to the old farm) and started building and painting her own garden furniture made from old fence boards. Everyone loved the simple designs and bright colors, so when they moved Tommy and Charlotte wanted to continue her vision. With a plethora of ideas, Charlotte called Paradise Landscapes to come in and lay out the bones for her dream garden designed around their sparkling pool. Inspired by the granite slabs (reclaimed from downtown Charlotte when sidewalks were replaced) and stone pavers of the existing pool deck, Dawn and Bill Shearin carved out large, curving beds to showcase Charlotte's precious daylily collection of well over 100 different cultivars. Beds for her peonies and iris, plus many old and new flowering plants and shrubs, are patiently waiting to be filled. Charlotte calls it her Gratitude Garden, and wants visitors to have fun and enjoy the playful oasis designed to fill the senses with fragrance and heart with joy.

Once we started spending time in the backyard, we realized we needed a shady spot to relax and enjoy the fun. Our deck was blistering hot, but seemed the perfect answer to giving us the outside space we desired. We had the deck covered and it quickly morphed into the favorite room in the house. With an old wagon wheel table made by my Grandfather Clark, and a chandelier created with china teacups collected by my Grandmother Cannon as centerpieces, its a bright cheerful place to sit, talk, meet our Toy Shelties and to just enjoy the beautiful day.

Dog Events

We love having visitors by appointment who come to meet all our beautiful Toy Shelties, Poshies, Toonies and us. We love to show you around and answer all of your questions, so you can feel confident we are the best 'birth parents' of your next fuzzy family member. We also host yearly Homecoming Show Weekends to welcome our babies and their families back home. Its a fabulous time to meet others with the same Toy Sheltie passion!
